I love the color purple and my favorite color in my pastel box is called eggplant.  It is a dark rich purple and it shows up in all my paintings.  
 
Purple celebrates the beginning of Advent.  In the Catholic Church priests wear purple vestments to express the joyful anticipation of Christ’s birth.  Purple was a royal color in ancient times and symbolized the kingly status of Jesus.
