Today's painting was inspired by a bouquet of sunflowers and delphiniums. Don't you love lemons?
The ride to the top. .
We have amazing views of the Sandia Mountains which are the end of the Rocky Mountains that span from Canada all the way down into NM. That was one of the first things Todd wanted to do when we moved here was 'to go to the top of the Sandia Mountain'. His parents, sister and brother-in-law visited us mid-April, and Todd was certain they would want to go with him. I opted to stay home with Gracie and it was a very good decision. . I could tell by the look on Lisa's face (Todd's sister) when she walked in it wasn't good haha . . she said 'Ang, my brother said not to tell you how bad the ride was'.🤣
Our newness to the area Todd decided to take the shortest route, you know that app on your phone that sends you on the goose chase. They were routed on a dirt road that was a rutted out, four-wheel drive, fire road. The five of them had a rough ride bouncing all the way to the top with no way to turn around. When they did reach the top, it was so cold no one wanted to get out 😲. The ride back was on a paved highway.
Gracie and I ended up going with Todd a few months later and the views were amazing.
My message is sometimes you must wait to avoid bumps in the road. Let others go first 🤣
